In 2019 Cromer Carnival celebrated 50 wonderful years.
As one of the biggest carnivals in the country, a number of events and souvenirs have been launched to mark the milestone.
One such item is this 80-page, full colour commemorative booklet which looks back on the 50-year journey made by the organisation behind the Carnival – Cromer Voluntary Entertainments Organisation.
The booklet features hundreds of photos from across the years, a history of the carnival, sections on various carnival events and people’s carnival memories.
Many of the memories and photos were gathered on two drop-in mornings held by carnival organisers earlier in the year.
It is priced at £8 including postage and packing (to UK mainland addresses).
Chairman of Cromer Carnival, Tony Shipp, said: “As part of our celebrations marking the 50th Anniversary of the CVEO we are delighted to launch the booklet of photographs, memories, highlights and the history of Cromer Carnival.
“We hope that locals and visitors alike will recall fond memories while looking through the booklet. It has been a mammoth effort in getting all the pictures and memories together and I thank everyone who has contributed.”
Over the past 50 years the carnival has been entertaining thousands of visitors and locals alike with a year-round programme of events, centring around Carnival Week in August.
The Carnival which is run by a team of volunteers would like to thank the many helpers, sponsors and supporters who make the Carnival possible.
